Continuing to punish mentally ill people for misconduct when the crossed wires that spark their behavior are clear to see as a broken bone seems to have no practical benefits to society. Sick brains require treatment, Not punishment!

Hey, your blog seems interesting, and we both blog about mental health. I have a question though. What do you mean when you say the mentally ill are punished? And what do you mean by they “need to be treated”?

Thank you. First all, not all mentall ill individuals are in criminal justice systems. The comment is about those individuals with mental illness who are being punished by criminal justice system instead of being treated. Holding them in prisons without treating their sick brains is counter productive
